District Advisory Committee
The purpose of the District Advisory Committee is to provide communication and feedback to the Superintendent and the School Board about equity issues in schools.
This school year, Rogue River will convene a District Advisory Committee (DAC) which will serve in an advisory capacity to the School Board and Superintendent in order to ensure that each child receives what they need to develop to their full academic and social potential.. See ORS 329.711. The responsibilities of the DAC will be: a) advising the School Board and Superintendent on whether district Decisions align with district goals to allow access to all students and preserve each person’s honor and dignity, b) informing the School Board and Superintendent when a situation arises in a school of the district that negatively impacts underrepresented students and advising the Board and Superintendent on how to best handle that situation, and c) informing the School Board and Superintendent when a situation arises in a school of the district that positively impacts underrepresented students and advising the Board and Superintendent on how to best replicate that situation.
The DAC must include members from 4 distinct groups: students, parents/caregivers, district staff, and community members, and the members must be primarily representative of historically underserved populations within the district.
Committee members will be determined through a nomination and application process, recommended by the superintendent, and approved by the school board. Initial meetings will take place Fall of 2025.

Comité Asesor del Distrito
El propósito del Comité Asesor del Distrito es proporcionar comunicación y retroalimentación al Superintendente y a la Junta Escolar sobre temas de equidad en las escuelas.
Este año escolar, Rogue River convocará un Comité Asesor del Distrito (DAC) que servirá en una capacidad de asesoramiento a la Junta Escolar y al Superintendente para garantizar que cada niño reciba lo que necesita para desarrollar todo su potencial académico y social. Ver ORS 329.711. Las responsabilidades del DAC serán: a) asesorar a la Junta Escolar y al Superintendente sobre si las Decisiones del distrito se alinean con los objetivos del distrito para permitir el acceso a todos los estudiantes y preservar el honor y la dignidad de cada persona, b) informar a la Junta Escolar y al Superintendente cuando surge una situación en una escuela del distrito que impacta negativamente a los estudiantes subrepresentados y asesorar a la Junta y al Superintendente sobre la mejor manera de manejar esa situación, y c) informar a la Junta Escolar y al Superintendente cuando surge una situación en una escuela del distrito que impacta positivamente a los estudiantes subrepresentados y asesorar a la Junta y al Superintendente sobre la mejor manera de replicar esa situación.
El DAC debe incluir miembros de 4 grupos distintos: estudiantes, padres/cuidadores, personal del distrito y miembros de la comunidad, y los miembros deben ser principalmente representativos de las poblaciones históricamente desatendidas dentro del distrito.
Los miembros del comité se determinarán a través de un proceso de nominación y solicitud, recomendado por el superintendente y aprobado por la junta escolar. Las reuniones iniciales tendrán lugar en otoño de 2025.
