Rogue River Junior/Senior High School takes great pride in our learning community. We celebrate our success and work to improve in areas where we are challenged. This past year our students performed very well on the Smarter Balanced Reading Assessments and showed tremendous growth on the math assessments. Our teacher's professional development and hard work with a math coach in addition to our students' work ethic has paid off. We will continue to focus on student growth and provide formative assessment opportunities throughout the year to prepare our students for both the math and reading assessments.
Our new teacher mentoring program will continue to support our first and second year teachers in the 2016‐17 school year. In addition to this support, we have increased professional development opportunities for the entire staff. We are making adjustments to our entire learning community by establishing a growth mindset with all students.
We are in year three of our Gear Up cohort. Our junior high team is focusing on social/emotional learning for our students. We have enhanced our College and Career center programming to increase student awareness and access to higher education. Our students have the opportunity to take an on ground Writing 115 and 121 course from a community college professor and we look forward to providing more of these opportunities in the future.
We are improving our school climate through a Restorative Justice Model along with increasing our school spirit and extra‐curricular participation.
We look forward to increasing the rigor and skill level of all of our classes while providing a fun and inviting place for students. At Rogue River Junior/Senior High, it is always a great day to be a Chieftain!
