Superintendent's Message

Dear Rogue River School District Families, Students, Staff, and Community Members,

I am honored to serve as the Superintendent of the Rogue River School District. Having previously served the district as Director of Special Education and Director of Special Programs, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside the students, staff, families, and community members who make Rogue River such a special place.

My path to education was not a traditional one. Before becoming an educator, I worked as an Operations Manager for FedEx. Leaving that career was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made, but I felt called to do something more. I wanted to make a direct difference in the lives of children and families. More than 23 years later, I can confidently say it was the best decision I ever made.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as an educational assistant, substitute teacher, special education teacher, university professor, Director of Special Education, Director of Special Programs, and Director of Student Services. Each role has taught me valuable lessons and given me a deep appreciation for the work that happens every day in our classrooms, schools, and district offices. These experiences have shaped my leadership style and strengthened my belief that every student deserves access to high-quality, inclusive learning opportunities.

As superintendent, I believe my first responsibility is to listen. I am committed to being present in our schools, visible at community events, and accessible to staff and families. Building strong relationships and maintaining open communication are essential to understanding our strengths, addressing challenges, and working together toward shared goals.

I am excited to continue advancing our district's commitment to student academic and personal growth, student character, safety and well-being, outstanding learning environments, strong communication, and community pride. These priorities reflect what makes Rogue River unique and will continue to guide our work on behalf of students.

I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside all of you as we continue building a bright future for the Rogue River School District.
